6th SEMINAR ON DR. B. R. AMBEDKAR

The 6th International Seminar on Dr. B. R. Ambedkar entitled “Common Plight of Dalits and Muslims of India” was held on April 26, 2011 at Pearl Continental hotel and was attended by around 250 guests. The proceedings of the seminar was presided by Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khosa, the senior Advisor to Chief Minister Punjab. The seminar was addressed by two guests from India, Dr. Anand Teltumbde and Prof. Rajivlochan, Head of the Department of History, Panjab University, Chandigarh. Mr. Chakraman Bishwakarma, Advocate, President, Dalit Welfare Organization (DWO), came from Nepal. The Director of SGRHF gave a welcome address. All the three overseas scholars presented their scholarly papers and spoke on the theme and highlighted the philosophy of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar.

The attendees of the seminar came from all fields of life i.e. teachers, students, intellectuals, scholars, doctors, engineers, judges, lawyers and businessmen. There was a good gender balance. Minority communities i.e. Hindus, Christians & Sikhs also attended the seminar.

The message was sent through the seminar of SGRHF that Pakistan cared for the oppressed sections of the South Asian societies.
