Valmiki Praghat Day 2019 at Shri Krishna Mandir, Lahore

Celebration of Maharishi Valmiki Praghat Day was held at Shri Krishna Mandir, Lahore on 13th October, 2019.

Celebrations started at 8 PM and ended at 9:30 PM, around 60 to 70 members of Hindu community participated in the event which includes children, women and men.

Welcome and Happy Guru Valmiki Praghat Day banners from Sir. Ganga Ram Heritage Foundation were displayed inside of Mandir.

Director SGRHF, Shaheen Hassan along with Admin Officer participated in Guru Valmiki Praghat Day. While Deputy Secretary Shrines, Syed Faraz Abbas, Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB), and Miss Bazgha, Research Officer at Lahore Civil Secreteriate also attended the event.

Director SGRHF presented flower bouquets along with sweets as Parsad to the Hindu community leader Dr. Manohar Chand.

At 8:15 PM, event started with traditional Hindu Bhajan singing that lasted for one hour, then all the members stood up for Arthi and ended with Prathana.

After that cake cutting ceremony was held, at last of the event, Deputy Secretary Shrines and Director SGRHF distributed Saropas (Shawls) to all devotees. Then sweets as parasad was distributed and event culminated with serving langar to the participants.

SIR GANGA RAM HERITAGE FOUNDATION

Sir Ganga Ram Heritage Foundation (SGRHF) is an NGO established in Lahore, Pakistan 2005. It is, indeed, an intellectual initiative to promote social justice, protect the rights of religious minorities and uplift the suppressed sections of society in South Asian region. The Executive Body of SGRHF decided to promote the philosophy of Sir Ganga Ram & Dr. B. R. Ambedkar as Champion of Humanism in South Asia. SGRHF is annually organizing an international seminar on Sir Ganga Ram & Dr. B. R. Ambedkar. The renowned Scholars from all over the world like UK, USA, Canada, Europe, India, Burma, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Pakistan, present their scholarly papers and speak on these august occasions.
