ED grills Sarathi associate over Dalit land dealings
Bhubaneswar: A close associate of arrested Godman Sarathi Baba alias Santosh Raul was interrogated by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for the second time on Saturday.
Sushant Mallik appeared for the second time before the ED. An interrogation over the land dealings belonging to Dalits is underway, said sources.
ED for the last six days is busy grilling associate of Sarathi and trust officials. On Friday, the ED officials had grilled one Pradeep Sahu alias Baya, a close associate of Sarathi, who is now lodged at the Choudwar Circle Jail.
On Thursday, Satyam Raul, foster son of Sarathi was grilled by the ED sleuths for over five hours. Another aide of the controversial godman Pilasky Swain was also grilled by the ED. Satyam admitted that he was grilled about Trust’s financial transactions and land deals. Satyam is the trustee of the Trust.
Pilasky Swain told reporter that Sarathi had given him Rs 20 lakh to manage the media after negative reports on him were doing rounds in the media.
Earlier on May 31, the ED had interrogated Sarathi’s close aides Dharanidhar Mallick, Surendra Mallick and Bijay Kumar Sahu on land related transactions of the self-proclaimed godman.
Similarly, on May 30 the ED officials also grilled godman’s brother Debendra Raul and aide Khagendra Rout alias Khaga over financial transactions of Satyam Trust.
