KCR should clarify on Dalit CM issue: MSP

Party to chalk out an agitation programme soon

dalit-watch-mar-14-10WARANGAL: Mahajana Socialist Party (MSP) leader Manda Krishna Madiga strongly objected to the statements made by TRS president KCR favoring closure of SC, ST and BC hostels to rebuild casteless society.

Describing it as a conspiracy, Mr Krishna Madiga said in the past too, similar attempt was made to close hostels of SC, ST and BCs in the name of containing the Naxalism in the State.

“The upper caste and feudal lord’s sense trouble for their political power from the downtrodden and wish to close the hostels that have been centres for Dalit empowerment and political awakening,” Mr Krishna Madiga opined.

He warned of serious agitation against any such move in the name of building a casteless society. Mr Rao should favour inter-caste marriages and he should begin that programme from his home rather than delivering sermons.

The TRS leader should first give clarity on his much talked promise of favoring a Dalit as first Chief Minister of new Telangana State. He made that promise with an intention to lure the downtrodden sections into the movement and after the State was formed, he stopped talking about that vow, the MSP leader added.

“He should come out clear on the issue of Dalit Chief Minister before March 25 else the MSP will chalk out an agitation programme at its proposed public meeting Mahajana Simha Garjana to be held in Warangal,” Mr Krishna Madiga said.

The SC,ST, BCs constitute majority of the population in Telangana State and if the feudalists try to capture the political power and marginalize the majority of people, another revolution would come to unseat them in a democratic way this time.

“In the past, the Dalits and other downtrodden youth were forced to take up guns to fight the oppression of feudalists in rural parts. Now, they are more awakened and high spirited. The Dalits know how to fight for their rights and extract their due share in political power,” Mr Krishna Madiga said.
